National Monuments & Historic Sites Marketing Activity
Task: You and your classmates will become marketing managers for one of the following national monuments or historic sites. With a partner or by yourself, you will research your assigned national monument/national historic site to find out the history behind it including when and why it became a national park, what history happened there and why visitors continue to go there. You will then make a one page flyer or tri fold brochure to promote visitation to your national park/site. It should include the name, year founded, a short description of the monument or site, a visual image (or more) and 3-5 fun facts about the monument/site. On the back, write a short history of the pmonument/site. Focus on its role in American history. You will be sharing this in small groups as the spokesperson for that park. You will present more than once, but to a different group of people each time. Make sure you know all about it so that you can encourage people to visit. You will randomly draw from the list below to find out your assigned park.
