History on Location
This is an OPTIONAL project to be completed throughout the year to give students a chance to improve either their participation grade. You may visit up to 2 different locations and complete the assignment for both.
Overview: History on Location is when you visit a historical site or museum to learn about a historic event. For this project, you will visit a historic site or museum (related to history) and create a visual display of that place. While, I have provided options for sites in Southern California, if you are traveling to other places, you may visit any historic site there as well.
Project Details: After visiting a location, create a visual (video, scrapbook, poster) to answer the following questions. You must include at least 5 pictures from the site, at least one of which includes you in it. You must also provide proof of attendance either through a dated admission ticket or posting an Instagram photo at the site (with the location stamped at the top) and tagging my Instagram @chshistoryteach. Questions to answer:
List of Possible Locations:
This is a list of some sites that you could visit as a day trip in Southern California. This is not a comprehensive list. If you choose to visit any of these, or other sites, make sure that the focus of your visit is on the history. Some of these places offer restaurants, shopping and other attractions. In order to get credit for this assignment, your visit and report must focus on the history.
