Background and instructions
Shark Tank is an unscripted series on ABC that features a panel of potential investors, called "sharks", that consider offers from aspiring entrepreneurs seeking investments for their business or product. The entrepreneur can make a deal on the show if a panel member is interested. However, if all of the panel members opt out, the entrepreneur leaves empty handed. The "sharks"ask questions regarding an entrepreneur's concept, product, or business model.
We will be carrying out a version of the Shark Tank program in class using the New Deal Programs. You will be invited as either a member of the Shark Tank OR to make a pitch as a representative of one of the New Deal Programs during the 1930s. You will need to keep in mind the conditions during the 1930s and what was needed to help President Roosevelt implement his three "R"s - relief, recovery and reform.
Entrepreneur representatives will pitch their New Deal Programs and “Sharks” will ask questions to better help them make the best investment decision.
We will have chromebooks on November 14-18 to work on the project. If you are unable to complete the project during our computer days, you will need to coordinate with your partner to work outside of class. Presentations will begin on Tuesday December 6 and go through December 9. Unless there are volunteers, team order will be randomly drawn.
