Pearl harbor & oahu
Mrs. Myers spent a week in Oahu as part of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Seminar called Pearl Harbor: History, Memory and Memorial. In attendance were 40 teachers from the United States and 10 from Japan. It gave her the unique experience to hear Japan's point of view on the attack and war. During the week, she also met several survivors of the attack, a woman who was part of Japanese Internment at Tule Lake and visited numerous historic sites on the island related to World War II.
